You have probably seen the Scratch Orchestra at the annual “Festival of Music, Song and Dance” at Findhorn, perhaps danced to the music. You may have been part of the orchestra once or maybe more. In response to many requests over the years, this is now a regular ongoing event! All instruments welcome, all levels of experience; we will explore a wide variety of music.

In December 2011 I reached the final ten of a BBC Radio 4 programme that aims to find the Amateur Scientist of the Year.
I had submitted a proposal to scientifically explore the benefits of singing for health and wellbeing.
(See the Forres Gazette article).
I came fifth in the final judging and thus by just one place missed to go through and work with scientists to develop this project.
Obviously excruciating to get so very, very close but still another indicator as to how serious the wider world is taking the benefits of singing.
I am hopeful that something might still come out of this. I have been really touched, encouraged and impressed by the support and response that I have had to all this, including from some very long lost friends!
