From the Findhorn website review of the EarthSings 2013 conference (Choir Night, Saturday 30 March):
“ Hearing men on their own, I am able to really appreciate the range of the masculine voice, the strength and the tenderness that can be expressed. This group of men sing a love song from Croatia with such feeling that the two lovers in the song become visible in the mind's eye. ”
Tuesdays during school terms
St John's Church, Forres (Moray) 7.30 – 9.30pm
Men's community choir
With David Harrison & Bill Henderson
This group is now well established and is enjoying singing a wide range of music from Beach Boys and Housemartins to Maori, South African and Georgian songs and lots more besides.
There are no auditions and no need to be able to read music. We are delighted with the rich, deep, resonant sounds we are making and there is no doubt that there is something very different and special about singing together just as a bunch of men.
This new venture was inspired by the Spooky Men's Chorale* from Australia and reminded me of my time in a men's choir in Wales. There is something special about men singing together - like a rugby club without the mud.
